For Funeral Homes
ObitsDaily lists death notices for towns across the United States as short facts and links every one to the obituary on your own website.
How listings work
- A listing shows only facts your notice states: name, age, town, dates, service times and places, and your funeral home's name. Never the obituary text, photos, survivors, addresses or cause of death.
- Its “Full obituary” link goes to your page. We count the visits we send you and tag the link with utm_source=obitsdaily, so they show in your own analytics.
- Notices come from you: notices you send us, the notification emails your website sends to anyone who signs up, and your public obituary pages, which ObitsDailyBot reads slowly and as your robots.txt allows. Listings appear automatically as your notices arrive, and a person checks new listings and takes down any that are wrong.
- Nothing is offered for sale beside your notices.
Partner with us
Partners send their notices to us directly, so their listings carry full service times. To partner, write to [email protected]. A person will reply.
Opt out
To stop your notices appearing on ObitsDaily, write to [email protected] from your funeral home. We take your listings down within a day and list no new ones. To keep only our crawler off your site, add User-agent: ObitsDailyBot and Disallow: / to your robots.txt.
No automatic email
The site never emails funeral homes automatically. Any message you get from ObitsDaily is written and sent by a person.
Families can ask for a notice to come down with a removal request.
